A great morning for SCE at the Superbowl 10K. Ryan Hoffman placed 3rd overall and Jenn Betancourt and Charwin Wolles finished 2nd and 3rd overall in the women’s division. Age group wins podiums also went to Will Hahn, Andrew Walgren, and Margaret Ellis. Full results here.

Five teammates couldn't resist the urge to wake up at dawn and head to San Juan Bautista to enter the 5k and 10 mile races. Miriam, Laura, Dan and Benoît started first at 10:00 for the 10 miles, while Andrew had to wait 15 more minutes before running his 5k. For once Laura let Agnès use the camera, which she put to good use as evidenced by the below shot of Andrew, seemingly flying through the 5k course in the impressive time of 19:15, putting him in 6thplace overall.

In the meantime, Dan and Benoît ran together for a couple of miles, energized by the sight of Monica, Gaylia and Jeremy cheering from the top of their bikes after riding from Aptos. It was very appreciated seeing their familiar faces on the course. Shortly after, Dan latched on to a faster group while Benoît was happy to run his own pace. Thanks to the turn around, each runner had a chance to see their teammates one more time before heading to the ever so long flat miles heading to the finish. Dan used his knowledge of the course and superior conditioning to drop his running mates and finished in a PR of 1:05:18. Benoît followed a few minutes later (PW of 1:08:22). Laura was next in an impressive 1:15:43 which gave her an age group 2nd place, followed by Miriam, who soldiered through back pains in 1:48:42. Results here.
