31st March. Santa Cruz, CA. Two teams of some of the fastest runners in Santa Cruz County have been selected to compete together at the Big Sur Marathon Relay on the 26th of April. Team Fluid Santa Cruz will be fielding both Mens and Womens teams at the event which covers 26.2 miles split into 5 legs. Following the success of the team, known as Santa Cruz Endurance, at last year's Silicon Valley Half Marathon Club Challenge (1st in the women's division and 2nd in the overall division) Fluid Recovery drink based in San Luis Obispo was signed as the title sponsor.
The team was selected from online applications received on team blog and features Top 100 Wharf to Wharf finishers, marathon and ironman triathlon champions and former college cross country stars. Members of the relay teams receive free entry and transport to the event as well as uniforms and sponsor product.

Team Fluid Santa Cruz fields teams of local athletes in endurance events that have a team category or are run as a relay. Sponsors provide support to the teams covering entry fees, transport and more. Team Fluid Santa Cruz hopes to bring talented athletes together and inspire participation in endurance sports. The team is managed by triathlon coach, Martin Spierings and owner of Central Coast Running store, Adam Boothe.
